About Revival Yarns
Revival Yarns is a welcoming place in Athens, Georgia where knitters and crocheters can gather, hone their crafts, and buy their favorite yarns. Revival Yarns was founded in 2014 by co-owners Lindsay and Cara. Lindsay and Cara met in their neighborhood knitting group. It was during these knit nights that the need for an in-town Athens yarn shop became clear and the idea for Revival Yarns was born.
Here at Revival Yarns we offer quality products and services at reasonable prices, but customer service is paramount. We strive to make Revival Yarns a welcoming, and safe space for fiber artists of all genders, ages, religions, ethnicities, backgrounds and skill levels. Descrimination is not tolerated.
So swing by Revival Yarns and spend some time working on your latest project in the company of other fiber lovers in our “knitting nook”. We can’t wait to meet you!
Lindsay taught herself to knit in 2003 while in college. A California native, Lindsay moved to Athens in 2012. Missing her knitting/crochet community out west, she started a knitting group in her new neighborhood as a way to meet other fiber enthusiasts. It was this inspiring group that eventually led to the creation of Revival Yarns. While knitting has been a long time passion for Lindsay, her formal training is in the field of Marine Biology, so she tends to gravitate towards fibers in blues and greens as a reflection of her love for the ocean.
Cara was taught to knit by her aunt at the age of 10. Each Thanksgiving her aunt would help her complete a new project. This instilled a love of the craft in Cara, a love she is already passing on to her 10-year old daughter. Cara is a Georgia native (with a brief hiatus in Texas). In addition to previously teaching kindergarten, Cara also owned her own cake business, so keep an eye out for her delicious baked goods in the Revival Yarns “knitting nook”.
